The waterfalls don't keep the same flow all year. Here's how it varies and what's recommended:
January to April
Level highDon't get under the falling water: the pressure and force can hurt you. Enjoy the waterfalls from the viewpoints.
May to August
Level mediumFine for a quick dip, but not for long: the water is very cold.
September to December
Level lowGreat for a dip; the weather is pleasant — it's the warm season in the area.
Weather and best time
A mild inter-Andean valley climate: around 27 °C by day and 13 °C at night. The best time to visit runs from April to December.
- Rainy season (December to March): the waterfalls flow stronger, but the trails get slippery.
- Dry season (April to November): clear days, ideal for walking; June to August have the coldest nights.
Best time to go
April to December, per the official board. For trekking and lagoons, the dry season; to see the waterfalls at their fullest, January to March (with care on the trails).
